It’s always great when artists can strike up friendships with other artists. While we’re not sure who started this bond, we’re certainly glad it happened. While performing at the Chicago Pitchfork Music Festival, Kendrick Lamar looked off stage and saw Lady Gaga who came to support his show.

Gaga and Lamar didn’t become friends overnight, and it’s not their celebrity that bought them together. Gaga is a fan of his music. She rarely tweets other celebs but she took time to give Twitter kudos to Kendrick.

“@kendricklamar #womenweedandweather listening to The Recipe,” she wrote. “Can your new album come out now so i can go out to clubs and dance again.”

She also decided to show her support for his new single
“Swimming Pools (Drank)” with the following tweet.

“@kendricklamar sitdown DRANK stand up DRANK. are you teaching a lyric writing program in compton? ‘Swimming Pool’ is so cool,”

Kendrick spoke on their friendship and said, “That’s a real good friend… a real good friend.” He then, of course, had to answer the question we all want to know, Can we expect a joint music effort? He said “God willing … for now I just like the friendship thing.”
