With Harlem’s A$AP Rocky creating a huge buzz for New York in hip-hop, it just may be time for R&B’s next big star to represent the borough as well. Nineteen year old Deon Young is gunning for the number one spot and has linked up with legendary music executive Sylvia Rhone to do exactly that. Recently signed to Epic Records who houses fellow budding R&B stars like Brandon Hines, Leah Labelle and more, Young has a mature voice that was formerly used to drop bars before he decided to try his hand at singing instead.

Blending his two talents together, Young is prepping to release his debut mixtape, Forever Young that will feature his spin on today’s hits by artists such as Kirko Bangz, Ca$h Out, and A$AP Rocky. Having already landed a placement in a Nike ad campaign and being named a “Summer Sensation of 2012” by Dr. Jay’s, this is only the beginning for Deon. Get a taste of what to expect from Forever Young in this clip for Young’s remix of the number one single by rapper Ca$h Out, “Cashin’ Out” – check out “Blackin’ Out” and get ready to bump Deon Young on the block this summer!
