The first-degree murder trial of rapper Lil Boosie, aka Torence Hatch, is now in its third day of hearings. Today’s (May 7) primary witness is a 19-year-old former associate of Boosie’s named Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding. After previously confessing to killing Terry Boyd, the victim, in 2009 and saying that Hatch gave the order to do so, Louding has backed-off that story at the stand.

On Monday morning, Louding claimed he never confessed to law enforcement about the murder. He says that he was with Boosie at his house the night of the crime along with the accused getaway driver Adrienne Pittman.

The trial, which is expected to last for at least another week, is turning into a real battle between defense and prosecution. Dana Cummings, leading the prosecution, revealed that Louding has a tattoo on his stomach of an AK-47 with the script “Yo Boosie Who’s Next?” that was done November 4, 2009 – two weeks after Boyd’s murder.

The defense admitted that Louding was at Boosie’s house the night of the murder but they claimed they were not friends and did not know each other well. They are attempting to prove that Louding had reasoning to commit murder and that he was hearing voices imploring him to commit the crime.

The defense is attempting to paint Boosie as an artist with good intentions that let too many people into his circle that he did not know. He is facing life in prison if convicted.
