LeBron James and The Heat Players Take a Stance on “Hoody” Stereotype
by Karen
Earlier today, LeBron James and The Miami Heat players took to Facebook to show their support and concern about the killing of the young 17-year-old Florida state teen, Trayvon Martin. Martin was gunned down in his fathers gated community by a neighbor who considered him as a threat. The neighbor, George Zimmerman, is still a free man on the notion of “it was out of self-defense”. Yesterday, a march and movement was held in NYC to encourage support and justice for young Trayvon. Those who could not make it, post their pictures on social media networks. LeBron and The Heat left the following caption:
We Are Trayvon Martin. Hoodies. Stereotyped. We Want Justice.
