On the day Biggie died (March 9th), Gunplay is set to release Bogota Rich: The Prequel. Why mention arguably the greatest rapper of all time and Gunplay in the same sentence? No real reason, actually, but the first look into the project, “Jump Out,” is sure to induce seizures, riots and the occasional fight at a rap concert. Off first listen, it’s not exactly “Rollin’,” but that same energy is there, which is exactly what Gunplay’s music thrives on.

Given the subject matter, this isn’t a radio smash or TV countdown mainstay waiting to happen, but it’s tough. Really tough. And pending he gets Ross to jump on the remix, he may expand the shelf life of the track even more. That’s just a suggestion though.
