Occupy Wall Street Protestors Get Back At Jay-Z

OWS protestors are taking shots of Jay-Z. If you guys remember, about two weeks ago Jay-Z made news that he would be releasing shirts for the Occupy Wall Street movement, but they would say “Occupy All Streets”. Protestors had a problem with shirts once they found he would be making profit from them via the Rocawear online store. What did they do in return? Photos just surfaced of a scultupe completed by artist Daniel Edwards. The piece features Jay-Z on the bottom, with money sign chain, Mr. Burns from The Simpsons, Scrooge McDuck, and at the top sits Richie Rich. Here’s what Daniel said about the sculpture:

I think Jay-Z has made himself a face of [the] Wall Street that Occupiers are protesting against,” said Edwards. “Maybe Jay-Z is striving to be in the one percent? Which is why I chose the composition of a totem pole because I thought it would resemble the number one. Rap stars who turn ‘Scrooge’ have to suffer some damage to their street credibility.

Is it that serious or protestors and followers of the movements getting a bit too hostile and in their feelings? What’s your thoughts?

Jay Z is an OVER-RATED CAMEL!!!

I think people like daniel Edwards should get a clue. Jay-Z came from nothing, he was far worse off than most of those occupy idiots. Edwards and those socialist idiots like him are jealous of self-made people like Jay-Z.

The occupy protesters want to take what belongs to others. Why should someone who works hard all of their life be deprived of their successes? The Occupy movement has some good ideas, like closing tax loopholes and adding some regulations to American banks but the movement has been hijacked by idiots who are attempting to ruin the economy by increasing corporate taxes and nationalizing banks.

In summary, leave Jay-Z alone because he has donated more than his fair share to charities. He is a self made millionaire.

I think this is a powerful testament to the fact there is a global outcry against the ills of exploitation. Bravo to the artist for keeping it real.

they are taking this way too far. i think jigga should have donated some money to the cause, but he is in no way, shape, or form obligated to. These people need to go on somewhere. its getting way out of hand.

im a huge jay fan, but a spade is a spade. this was disrespect, which is kind of out of his public character. i.e. 9/11 and Va Tech concert donations. whether he agrees or not the OWS protest represents the struggle he raps about growing up in brooklyn, more or less. i.e. police harrassment protests a few weeks ago in brooklyn. he’d be wise to take it back and ‘either love em or leave em alone’ as he would say.
