Rome wasn’t built in a day and J. Cole’s Cole World: The Sideline Story wasn’t exactly created overnight. Last week, Cole saw his debut album drop, some four years after his first tape, The Come Up. What we have here is a visual scrapbook of sorts. Jay-Z provides the backdrop giving the reason why Jermaine’s time to shine was delayed so often and his hopes for his understudy’s long term future in the game.

Personally, it’s cool to see Cole getting this love and for he and his team’s sake, I hope the numbers represent the acclaim I’ve been seeing thrown around for two weeks now. And since we’re talking about the album, “Nothing Lasts Forever” “Nobody’s Perfect” is one hell of a record. It gets better the more and more I listen to it. I guess because I know what it’s like to live that same exact situation.
