Lil Wayne Isn’t Too Worried About The Consequences Of His Jay-Z “Diss”

It’s really not “beef” if both of these artists are two of the richest in their profession. Still, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a laugh out of Wayne’s now infamous bars shot towards Jay-Z on “It’s Good” from his recently leaked album Tha Carter IV. For those living under a rock, the lyrics were in response to Hov’s “baby money” line from he and Kanye’s “H.A.M.” Which, if you want to be technical, were (probably) triggered from a Birdman interview in 2009.

VIBE got Weezy on the phone yesterday to discuss the track, and truthfully, he doesn’t seem too pressed at all.

“I know there won’t be any repercussions behind what I did,” says a confident Wayne when asked if he had second thoughts about recording his acidic verse for ‘It ‘s Good.’ “I know for a fact music is about perception. You can’t do anything but perceive what you hear. I know that for a fact. So I can’t ever be upset about someone’s reaction.”

Yeah, so that’s that. He said it himself, music is about perception and the perception is now that a Wayne and Jay battle is on the horizon. I’ll keep my thoughts to myself on said topic because that’s just opening up a can of words that frankly don’t actually need to. In the meantime, am I the only one who remembers Weezy’s shot at Jay on “Beat Without Bass”? The one with the whole “I’m 24, I can murk you and come home when I’m 44” line.
