There’s great songwriters. Then there’s great singers. But not all singers are great songwriters and vice versa. J. Valentine, however, presents himself as cut from a different cloth. Off first glace, the name may not instantly ring a bell, but the Bay Area’s jack of many trades’ resume will. Having penned records for Tyrese, N’Sync, Keyshia Cole, Mario, Omarion, Jamie Foxx and the legendary Ron Isley, his thoughts have manifested themselves through the vocals of some the more known artists of this current generation. And, before I forget, he’s also the man behind the magic for a large majority of Tank’s most recent album, Now Or Never.

At some point though, every songwriter wants to relinquish (maybe focus on themselves is a better description) the role of John Stockton and assume the responsibility of a scorer (Stockton the league leader in NBA history, for the record). Valentine let loose of his “4U” video which he hopes to be a staple in bedroom anthem music. Feel free to offer some feedback or even hit Valentine up on Twitter to let him know you’re thoughts on the song/video whose sole intention is to increase the world’s population.
