Man, listen. This may be the hardest song out right now.

Jon Connor’s Salvation is on iTunes as you read, so upon finishing here be sure to head over there with your support for Flint, Michigan’s, own if you see fit. “Don’t Fall In Love With A Bitch” on the surface may sound like your normal, fly-by-night derogatory track dedicated towards females, and in a sense, it is. Yet, the lesson Connor attempts to preach is be careful who you fall for out here in the world. Chase the wrong one and get your feelings hurt. J.C. speaks from experience that investing all your feelings (mostly ill-advised ones) in females never leads to a positive outcome. But he ends the near three minute confessional with this piece of advice:

“We gotta get it clear, right? The name of the record is “Don’t Fall In Love With A Bitch,” not don’t fall in love period. And it’s like once you understand that every bitch ain’t a lady and every lady ain’t a bitch, my n*gga, then you’ll be good.”

This sounds like some type of record Ice Cube would have done back in the late ’80’s; kind of because he did.
