“I’m spreading hope like dope baby!!” – Bootsy Collins

Bootsy Collins. James Brown. Put them in a room together and 15 times out of 10, something is either getting snorted, drank or inhaled (or all three).  That’s exactly what happened in some room long, long ago when the two icons in music decided to get higher than telephone wires. Bootsy sat down with Abiola Abrams for what resulted in an interesting interview to say the least. Actually, anything with Collins is a must see. The guy has one of the greatest personalities to ever come through music and before Cam and E-40, this guy had his own slang. He could be watching paint dry and it’d be worth the price of admission just to hear him talk about the experience. The two spoke about a list of topics over the course of this 10 minute clip, including a new album he has on the way (everybody from Musiq Soulchild to Al Sharpton is on there, by the way), but obviously the standout moment came with the story of he and Brown tripping on acid.

These are the stories that are priceless. New albums and their questions eventually answer themselves, but these stories are what make the music industry what it is (for better and worse).
