I cannot speak for everyone when I say Lloyd’s music is, for the most part, enjoyable. Is he the greatest artist R&B has ever seen? Not even, but that also isn’t to say he does not release quality material. I bet no one remembers “Cadillac Love” or “Feels So Right” from the first album. Or even Street Love, the entire album. Nevermind, I’m getting off topic, but you get the point.

It seems like we have been hearing about his new album King Of Hearts for months now with Polow Da Don even referring to it as a “classic.” Throughout my years of listening to music, I have come to find out people who say projects are classic are rarely right and it is best just to let the music speak for itself.

Still, I am ready to hear the LP because I know, if nothing else, it will be – and here’s that word again – quality. VIBE caught up with the southern-bred crooner and managed to get him to speak about those riding shotgun. R. Kelly and Keri Hilson (“World Cry”), Trey Songz (“Be The One”), and Chris Brown (“Love Me Girl”) will help in sharing the singing loads, but it is one track in particular which will feature two of Hip-Hop’s most respected lyricists which has YG especially excited.

But perhaps the LP’s most buzzed about collaboration will be the Lil’ Wayne and Andre 3000 assisted “Miss That Pu**y”. The tongue-in-cheek cut has a retro ‘50s sound with explicit lyrics, detailing the aftermath of a female’s infidelity—particularly on her lower regions.

“I liked the way it used to be,” a, um, tightlipped Lloyd told VIBE of the track’s anatomical focus. He hadn’t yet heard the cameo verses by Wayne or Andre, who both appeared coincidentally, on different versions of Lloyd’s 2006 hit, “You”.

Prepare yourself to hear the claims of Dre’s verse being the “verse of the year” within five minutes of the track being made available. Whether it is or it isn’t, people anticipate new music from that guy like I anticipate LeBron getting a ring; probably even more. The album is scheduled to hit shelves April 19.
