If you follow Game on Twitter, his heavy promotion for his new mixtapes Purp & Patron and The Hangover with DJ Skee and Funkmaster Flex has been impossible to miss. It gets annoying at times, but I can’t knock another man’s hustle. He gave away 30 tracks for free with features from everyone like Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and even Lil Boosie. That is impressive, but when learning about the financial cost of such a project, I cannot be mad at the man for his social networking OD’ing.

It took the Dr. Dre protégé one month and tens of thousands of dollars to produce the mixtapes presented by DJ Skee and hosted by Funkmaster Flex. “I spent like over $40,000 getting that mixtape done,” he said.

Game did not set out to make two separate mixtapes. “We just didn’t have enough room on the actual two CDs,” he said. “We ran out of minutes so we just decided to put out ‘The Hangover.'”
