If you’re of the belief that you do, in fact, learn something everyday, let G-Two and Black Sand be your lesson for this September 28th. DDot has been supporting the guys, so he’s more adept to speak about the background of the two. Why am I going to give it a listen? One of the guys is from the DMV and I’m always down to hear new talent from the area I live in. I think the cover is dope too, but that’s just me.

Two of MY favorite up and coming artists @MynameisGTwo @KPrime have joined forces to put together a free album. One hails from the DMV, the other from Queens. I had the pleasure of attending their release party (footage soon come) over the weekend where they performed and previewed tracks from this project in front of a packed crowd in the DMV. It includes contributions from Up North Productions (these guys), appearance from Kae Hock and more. Tracklisting is below, as well as links to stream/download this body of work.

I’m usually a total mainstream girl when it comes to hip-hop/rap, I even surprised myself when I fell in Love with Black Sand. I don’t know much about the music industry, what it takes to be a good rapper or who’s the best known lyricist but, G-Two is now by far one of my favorite DMV artists & K Prime (who’s music I am new to) is an extra special added bonus. These guys together are fantastic.

After hearing about the album from a friend ..I must say ….I’M IMPRESSED!…..the beats are on point and the songs are amazing !. Between the two of them , k prime and gtwo def bring in sound lyrical content (which i think is somewhat lacking in the Dmv) and their songs have a purpose and theme and are well put together.Track 3 is evidence and is one probably my faves. I think these guts are what the Dmv rap scene is missing ……no fakin!
